What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship gives the opportunity for people to train on the job, gaining some hands on experience while studying for a qualification.

How can Sussex Housing & Care support those who wish to take part in an apprenticeship?

Sussex Housing & Care will fully fund your apprenticeship, and provide you with paid work experience and additional study leave/day release. We will also support you though regular one to one meetings with your line manager.

We have apprenticeship opportunities for both new and existing staff. For further details on the opportunities available, or an informal chat please contact the HR team on 01323 875240 choosing option 4.

Bexhill students gain work experience at Ardath

Bexhill students gain work experience at Ardath

Esme and Jasmin are studying Health & Social Care at Bexhill 6th Form College. As part of their course they are encouraged to work in different social care settings to gain practical experience in different areas.

“We work at Ardath once a week and help out with cleaning, morning and afternoon activities with the residents, tea rounds and lunch service.

It’s good to get an idea of what it’s actually like to work in a care home. It also means we’re more likely to be successful getting a job, as we already have practical experience.

It has been good getting to know the residents and hearing their stories. The most rewarding part has definitely been being able to help the residents.”

If you are interested in work experience at one of Sussex Housing & Care’s homes or housing schemes please contact our HR department on 01323 875240 option 4 or find out more on our website here.
